Employee Rights
- You have the right to request and receive in writing within 72 hours (not including weekends and holidays), information on the hazardous chemicals with which you
come in contact. If you do not receive the requested information, you have the
right to refuse to work with the substance in question.
- You have the right to be informed of hazardous chemicals used in your work area.
- You have the right to have access to The Graduate Center's written Hazard Communication/Right-to-Know Program.
- You have the right to file a complaint with OSHA (PESH) if you believe that you
have been discriminated against due to the exercising of your rights under this standard. Note: OSHA is the federal organization, which has authority in the
private sector as well as federal institutions. PESH (Public Employees Safety and Health Bureau) is "OSHA" for CUNY and other New York State public employees. Therefore, any complaints regarding health and safety should be addressed to PESH.
- You have the right to know that you must not waive these rights as a condition of employment.
